I work with a lot of young adults who at some stage of their lives come to a crossroads in their lives about what to do next or just simply how to handle what is happening for them in their lives right now. In my experience, you probably have most of what you need in resources to remedy this problem even though you may be feeling unable to, overwhelmed and maybe even embarrassed.
You may have family and friends trying to support you but it may not feel very supportive. My job is very simple here. I am not related to you which means I'm not biased. Also, most of what I will do is to listen to you and not judge you. I will ask some questions which can be useful in getting to know what is going on in your life.
My belief is a well-timed question is better than a 1,000 answers. You will get through what is happening for you. My role then is to remove myself from your life to allow you to get on with living it. More importantly, my hope for you is, that should a similar situation arise for you again later on down the road, you'll feel more able to 'handle it' in a more effective way.
