Each year, just after the Easter Holidays I'm inundated with phone-calls from parents looking for some support for their teens who struggle with anxiety whilst getting ready to sit their exams. Counselling is quite effective but in my experience young people learn best within groups. Below is some information on the workshops.
How much does it cost?
For the 4 weeks the total cost is €150. This is payable on the first night. Credit Card/Debit Cards are also accepted* To reserve a space please ring (087) 69 68 153 and ask for Allen. Bookings cannot be taken by the Northside Centre.
How big are the groups?
The group will be no larger than 12. You'll get to meet people of your own age from around the Northwest who are in the same boat. The atmosphere is friendly and safe.
Where are the workshops taking place?
They will be run in the Northside Community Centre, Forthill, Sligo Town.
This 4 week workshop is designed to enable students studying for the Leaving Cert to learn about how anxiety affects them and how to manage it in such a way that helps them to take charge.
The course aims to not just prepare them for the Leaving Cert but provide them with an understanding that will prepare them for future challenges well past Second Level Education.
"With over 25 years in Schools delivering programmes on Well-being, 6 years school Chaplain, 10 years as a Counsellor/Psychotherapist I've put this programme together as a resource for young people and parents."
The workshops will cover subjects such as;
*2% additional charge on Credit/Debit cards
